Asakusa is a must for anyone traveling to Japan (or at least in the Kanto area, where Tokyo is located).
In Asakusa is Senso-ji temple, one of the main tourist area and is visited annually by about 20 million people around the temple also has its charm, with small shops and alleyways that recall Old Japan, with small shops and traditional sweets items typical.
Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple, was built about the year 645, but was destroyed in World War 2 and later rebuilt.
Legend brothers were fishing in the Sumida River (East of Asakusa) and its network was embroiled in a small statue of Kannon (the Buddhist personification of compassion). After leaving it on in Rio, the statue was returning constantly to them, so they decided to ask the construction of a temple, now known as Senso-ji, and which is supposed to guard the statue of Kannon, although it has never been shown publicly.

O-koro. o-koro is the censer that is in the temple, and they say, its smoke cure the sick and débiles.A strengthens the sides are positions where you can buy incense to burn then you put in the o- koro, the picture was taken at night and had almost no people, but during the day people are gathered around this censer.
The famous pagoda of Asakusa 5 floors, 64 m. high.
destro of the pagoda and the temple there are beautiful gardens.
The 3rd weekend in May takes place in Asakusa Sanja Matsuri, a festival very attractive in memory of the brothers fishermen found the statue of Kannon, a penalty not being there to see it, perhaps another year ^ _ ^
Asakusa What do you think? I love, but always full of tourists, both foreigners and Japanese, I have already been 3 times, but the latter decided to go at night, not overwhelmed with so many people:)
